Relationship marketing is the process of attracting, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with key people. It is the establishment and coordination of lines of communication between two or more parties.
Recently, I had another opportunity to take charge and solidify relationships.
Taking Referrals One Step Further ?????? ????? ???? ???????? ????? ???? ?????
I was contacted by a client who needed a referral for various services. I could have very easily given her the name of a resource or two and left it at that — let her make the contacts.
Instead, I thought — why not refer her to individuals I know and trust, and have every confidence in knowing they will provide exceptional service. I wanted to be sure the client will be thoroughly blown away with the results.
Therefore, I personally contacted members of my resources network who specialize in the requested services, sent an email summarizing the details, conversations and providing contact information for each. I relayed my sense of urgency on behalf of my client, and as a result, the parties connected quickly and met by phone within 24 hours.
Making Referrals Count
Bottom line, If you are going to make a referral, make it count. Facilitate it on a higher level than just passing on a name and telephone number. Create a sense of urgency and commitment to creating connections, not only for your client but also for your resources network by making the contacts yourself.
Then you have managed the creation of relationships for your client and associates, and continue to build your reputation as the “go to” person and a creator of useful and potentially profitable connections for all involved parties.

I am such a big fan of relationship marketing. But it seems to be lost these days in the rush rush to just get the word out about a product. Thanks for these helpful tips. Having a good reputation does count. So much better than having a bad rep that will make you lose clients.
