Industry Leader Bands Together Virtual Assistant Team to Help with Election

The 24 Hour Secretary leads a team of 100 Virtual Assistants to help voter registration and Election Day run smoothly.

Baltimore, MD, November 20, 2008 – September 17, 2008, marked the beginning of one of the largest projects undertaken by a team of Virtual Assistants. InfoVoter Technologies, a voter access, voter protection and election administration technologies and services company contracted The 24 Hour Secretary (http://www.the24hoursecretary.com) for a 45-day marathon transcribing voter registration requests and complaints from more than 45,000 respondents during the nationwide election.

Ms. Dana Rubenstein, VP, InfoVoter Technologies stated, “24 Hour Secretary was a huge asset in transcribing call traffic on the 1-866-MYVOTE1 Nationwide Election Hotline during the 2008 Election cycle. No project was too big, and Sharon was quick to return calls and emails. Her team’s professionalism and organization ensured that the transcribing would be completed efficiently and quickly, and we knew that the team would be ready at a moment’s notice. When we were informed recordings were coming from the NAACP and CNN referrals, it underscored the importance of our work to the national election process. Citizen calls ranged from requests for absentee ballots to complaints about standing in long lines.”

By hiring an experienced and flexible Virtual Assistant team, InfoVoter Technologies was able to staff the Hotline through peak and nonpeak hours without overhead, overtime or equipment concerns. The 100 member, Internet-savvy VA team required minimal instruction, worked independently and were important contributors to a smooth Election Day process.
